One of these days,
I seriously wanna grab a bunch of my besties
and have a musical marathon.
We're gonna start with the old classics,
such as,
"In Hertford, Hereford and Hampshire hurricanes hardly ever happen."
There's actually way more I would put on
but when I think about it..
I have a feeling it's gonna be a never ending list!
So I'll leave it at that.
What would be in your list of must-watch-musicals?!
I seriously wanna grab a bunch of my besties
and have a musical marathon.
We're gonna start with the old classics,
such as,
I've always loved Barbra Streisand
from the very first time I heard her sing.
She is just so amazing and
such a role model!
She is one the few talents out there,
who possesses such a talent and yet does not have the ego
that usually comes with it.
Funny Girl is,
in a way,
an understatement to her character
because not only is she so hilarious,
but throughout the movie
you see her gradual change from
this innocent girl to a mature young woman.
I seriously love this scene.
You can see how much she stands out among the other ladies.
And yet,
you can't help but love her for her unique-ness.
This is such a classic!
One of my all-time favourite musical.
It does not involve a lot of drama
that results in pools upon pools of tears,
it's just back-to-back laugh out loud moments!
Ps. You might recognize one of the songs in it that was featured in Wall-E.
*winks*
This one has such a story to tell the world.
It starts by explaining their way of life was based on traditions,
and the divide between the Jews and Christians.
It never cease to amaze me how someone
could order a mass of people to move out of their homes.
Especially when most of them don't have any other home,
other than the one they were kicked out from.
The lessons learnt watching this are never ending.
Ps. Did I mention that Gwen Stefani's "Rich Girl" was inspired by one of the scores in this musical?!
Another classic musical!
Anyone who's a fan of Julie Andrews' works
has seen 'The Sound of Music'.
It may have been years,
but I'm pretty sure you've watched it before.
What surprised me was that it was based upon a true story!
If there were a time
when I was given a choice between Julie Andrews and Audrey Hepburn
to win the Oscar for Best Actress.
I would have said Hepburn,
all because of her flawless performance in 'My Fair Lady'.
Playing a British peasant turn to a Fair lady!
Props to her for that!
"In Hertford, Hereford and Hampshire hurricanes hardly ever happen."
There's actually way more I would put on
but when I think about it..
I have a feeling it's gonna be a never ending list!
So I'll leave it at that.
What would be in your list of must-watch-musicals?!
